Even simpeler leven bij Edward

Ontdek Fountain Violet Farm in Devon. Vlakbij het schilderachtige dorpje Kingswear op het typische platteland van Devon. Je logeert bij de familie Jones, ze fokken kippen die biologische vrije uitloopeieren produceren. De tenthuisjes hebben een prachtig uitzicht op de kustlijn. Perfect om echt even te ontsnappen aan de drukte van het dagelijkse leven.

Fan van watersporten? Dan ben je hier aan het juiste adres! Je bent op slechts 15 minuten lopen van Mill Bay Cove, hier kun je zwemmen of gewoon genieten van de zon. Je kunt ook kajakken, paddleboarden, surfen en zeilen in de nabijgelegen River Dart. Of pak de veerboot naar Dartmouth. Ga voor een stukje geschiedenis naar het Greenway House and Garden, een zomerhuis uit de jaren 50 van de auteur Agatha Christie en haar familie.

Word elke ochtend wakker in je comfy bed en staart naar het adembenemende uitzicht op de rivier de Dart. Jong en oud vinden het heerlijk om door dit landschap te dwalen. Snuif de zeelucht op en geniet van een kampvuur tijdens zonsondergang. Kook gezellig samen in je tenthuisje en geniet van het diner op jullie veranda.

I was looking for somewhere for myself and my daughter to have a little end of summer holiday, Fountain Violet Farm was the perfect place. I found a great deal which was within my budget and with that I booked straight away, I found the booking process to be very simple. We were greeted by Edward as we arrived, he was very friendly and explained how to use the lanterns, fire procedures and about the area, ensuring that we were set up and happy. The tent was great, comfortable beds, fully equipped and the most amazing views ever, we were treated to some beautiful sunsets. There was plenty of firewood which was an added bonus. We walked down to the local town through a lovely countryside walk which I really loved, being able to go out for the day but leaving the car! I have already recommended this place to many people, we are also hoping to return very soon.Thank you for a great stay, exactly what we needed.

This is the second time we've visited Fountain Violet Farm in Devon and absolutely loved every experience. It's so tranquil, the idea to slow down and be 'off grid' for a while is really appealing. Farmer Edward was always on hand for questions and always checked in to make sure everyone was ok. The scenery and location of the tents are perfect. Our dog loved the space to run around and go on special walks. Dartmouth was so easy to get to via the ferry and the local shops are great, with fresh produce and something for everyone. The beaches further south are perfect for a quick swim and ice cream. We're definitely going back again for a third time.

Schitterende locatie met een erg mooi uitzicht. Er is veel te doen in de omgeving en de pizza-avond was geslaagd.

Vertragen, verstillen, verbinden, verwonderen. Een tas koffie maken of warm water hebben duurt wat langer dan gewoonlijk en dat is juist de charme, de rust door de ligging en het kleinschalige verblijf (slechts 5 tenten) maakten het ´oh so quite´ zonder gsm was er meet q time voor elkaar, de omgeving en het uitzicht zijn onbetaalbaar prachtig.

Kingswear, wat een prachtige locatie. We hadden wel het mooiste weer van de wereld. Het uitzicht was voortreffelijk. Je raakt niet uitgekeken.

We had an absolutely beautiful stay at Fountain Violet to celebrate a special birthday, and it just couldn’t have been better. The location, the view, the accommodation, even the weather arranged itself perfectly and our hosts were superb. I’m still getting messages about how amazed our friends and family were, and everyone is planning to go back.

Featherdown was a wonderful break from the frazzle of day to day life. The location, with vantage points over the sea, hill and dale, was stunning. Accommodation was beautifully designed; a camping experience with hints of important comfort I.e. great beds, normal loo, hot shower and log burner etc.My visitors were thrilled and so was I. So Featherdown has earned 5 enthusiastic followers who will undoubtedly book again as soon as humanly possible.

We so enjoyed our long Easter weekend at Fountain Violet. Edward was warm and welcoming and was super helpful and attentive! Our tent had the most fabulous sea view, good stock of crockery and cutlery and the beds were comfortable. Really good location too! Great for families and dogs!

Prachtig grote, schone tent met fantastisch uitzicht op zee. Behulpzame boer stond klaar met tips over de omgeving. Veel hout beschikbaar voor vuurtje in de avond.. verzorgde op zaterdagavond nog een pizza avond versgebakken in een steenoven.

Absolutely stunning location. Tents were clean, well equipped & the beds amazingly comfortable. Fantastic warm showers (with a view!). There was an unseasonal storm while we were there, which we watched from our warm, cosy, candlelit tent after being warned by Edward, the lovely farmer. Kids made friends with other camp mates & enjoyed catching grasshoppers & playing hide & seek in the long grass. Adults and kids all enjoyed the lack of tech. Honesty shop very well priced & lots of things available if needed. Pizzas cooked by Edward were delicious. Thanks for an amazing stay - we will definitely be back.

Magnificent view which the pictures cannot represent enough. The tent was cleaner than we have ever seen before at a Feather Down. There are multiple great walks from the tent into the surroundings and Dartmouth (beautiful) can be reached on foot and with a short ferry crossing. A nice bonus is the fire bowl that we have not seen before on other Feather Downs.
